Space Manager Standalone   For single PC use

If you do not already have Space Manager Standalone installed on your computer, or would like to upgrade an existing installation to the latest version, please call RADical Systems (UK) Limited or E-mail our Sales Department.

If you have received an update disk in the post, and would like to upgrade your installation, follow this procedure:

  1. Insert thedisk into your floppy disk drive.
  2. Go to the DOS prompt and log to the disk drive (A: or B:)
  3. Type UPDATE and press [Enter]
  4. The update procedure is fully automatic, so follow the on-screen prompts.
  5. Remember that the Update process deletes all the INDEX files, so Space Manager will display the message - "Indexing Data Files" the next time it is run
  6. The update is now complete.

Space Manager Multi-User   Network Ready Version

If you do not already have Space Manager Multi-User installed on your Network, or would like to upgrade an existing installation to the latest version, please call RADical Systems (UK) Limited or E-mail our Sales Department.

If you have received an update disk in the post, and would like to upgrade your installation, follow this procedure:

  1. Make sure that all users have logged out of Space Manager
  2. Log onto the network as the Supervisor or a User with full rights to the SMNET directories.
  3. Insert the Disk into your floppy disk drive.
  4. Ensure that you have a drive address mapped to the Volume on which SMNET is installed. For Netware, the command might be: MAP [drive]:=[server]\[volume]:
  5. Log to that drive and change directory to the SMNET subdirectory
  6. If the SMNET.EXE file is read-only, use the FLAG SMNET.EXE RWS command to change it to read-write
  7. Rename the existing SMNET.EXE command file (e.g. REN SMNET.EXE SMNET.OLD)
  8. Copy the updated SMNET.EXE file from the floppy to the installation directory (e.g for an installation directory of S:\SMNET, use the command; COPY A:SMNET.EXE S:\SMNET)
  9. Repeat the FLAG, RENAME and COPY operations above for the practice installation in the SMNDEMO subdirectory (e.g. S:\SMNDEMO), if appropriate
  10. If required, flag the SMNET.EXE file as read-only using FLAG SMNET.EXE ROS
  11. The update is now complete.
