If running the Period Revenue report for many periods at a time i.e. 12 months it may not equal the sum of the revenue for each of the individual months.
This is because the reports exclude transactions created after the end period of the report. As such the 12 month one will include a lot of transactiosn that are back dated into a previous period such as a back dated vacation whereas the single month at a time one will not.
