Adding JPG Picture to a RTM causes an Access Violation

Hint Ref: 021102010004
Hint Date: 01/02/2011

Hint Details:

<pclass="hint_description">PROBLEM: Trying to place a JPG image in a RTM report Document Template causes an Access Violation and the image does not appear.

In addition, we found that many windows programs would not open the file (or save it) and our email system also refused to show the image, claiming that the JPG file was an invalid file type.

SOLUTION: The issue turned out to be that the image had been supplied as a 32-bit CMYK file. Converting the file into a 24-Bit RGB file solved the problem.

We accomplished this using Corel Photo Paint and choosing the 'Image' file menu, then the 'Color Mode' option and then from the presented list 'RGB Color (24-Bit)'.
