SQL Anywhere ODBC Driver Not Listed in System DSN

Hint Ref: 021511090014
Hint Date: 09/11/2015

Hint Details:

The user had installed Space Manager and thus the Sybase components. It appeared to work but Windows did not register the 64bit ODBC driver as having been installed thus it was not in the list of drivers. No doubt the same could occur for the 32 bit drivers.

All the components were on the machine so the driver could be registered manually to get it to appear in the list by running the appropriate 32/64 bit dll registration from the command line.

regsvr32 "c:\program files\sql anywhere 10\x64\dbodbc10.dll"
regsvr32 "c:\program files\sql anywhere 10\win32\dbodbc10.dll"
